What it is
Lifted Voices is a gathering of brethren with one purpose: to worship God in spirit and in truth.
It isn’t a show or a concert. Nobody is performing for you, and you aren’t performing for anyone. It’s a child speaking to their Father, out loud and unguarded. We come with thanksgiving, we lift our voices together, and we leave changed.
Why we gather
Ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Worship is how a child talks to their Father. Not a ritual, not a routine. A conversation.
We gather because some things are easier to say together than alone. When a room full of people opens up to God at the same time, something happens that doesn’t happen anywhere else. That’s what we make room for.
Your first time
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
You don’t need to know the songs. Most people don’t the first time. Listen, and join in when you’re ready.
You don’t need a good voice. The point is to lift it, not to be heard.
Wear what you’re comfortable in.
It starts at 6 PM and runs about three hours. Doors open at 5:50 PM. It opens gently, rises into praise, settles into deep worship, and ends in prayer.
Come alone or bring someone. Either way, you won’t stand alone.
